Curtis Linhart has been involved in the fitness industry for over thirty years. Starting in the 80's, he taught numerous fitness classes including Step Aerobics, Spinning, High Impact Aerobics, Slide and BodyPump. This lead him to consider a more 'full-time' position as a personal trainer. Opening his own studio 25 years ago, He has been on the leading edge of the fitness industry in Central Iowa.
13 years ago Curtis became the first certified Stott Pilates instructor in the Des Moines area. Transitioning his clients to this form of exercise was a challenge, but eventually all of his clients(70% are men), decided to forego traditional weight lifting in order to pursue Pilates Training.Today clients experience a mix of Pilates, yoga and personal training.
Four years ago Curtis took his first yoga class in over two decades. It was a hot Vinyasa class, and he fell in love with yoga! This love affair lead him to take yoga at studios across the country, from New York City to Seattle, Washington. The road to becoming a yoga teacher seemed natural to Curtis because he actually went to school to become a minister. Instead, he focused his career on helping people develop and care for their physical bodies. When he discovered that yoga was a comprehensive practice that helped people both physically and spiritually, it was as if his education and vocation finally came together.
Most of his clients now do 50/50 Pilates and yoga. He also teaches Yoga classes from ‘Yoga Curious’(Beginning yoga, no flexibility required). To the extremely challenging Ashtanga Primary Series.
